The sticky thread says voting is open through October 7th, so everybody still has time. He doesn't want you to hurry through your ballots, so take some time and think about your votes.
Re: 2008 Sports Mogul MLB Awards - Ballot Discussion
I'm surprised ludwick doesn't make many people's top 10 in nl mvp voting, he had a stellar year, batted 299, 37 homers, top 10 in rbi's. just a lil surprised...and how does glaus not get more recognition at third for gold glove, he had the fewest errors. I know I am a hometown fan, but I feel these two could use a lil recognition
Re: 2008 Sports Mogul MLB Awards - Ballot Discussion
and i am a lil surprised some don't have lidge as nl reliever, didn't blow a save this year

And I think you are little biased about Fuentes there buddy. Lidge was lights out for the Phillies this year. A perfect 41 of 41 in save opportunities and he is the number two? BUZZ! WRONG! TRY AGAIN!
I am so sick of the ANTI-Philadelphia thinking that goes on!
Albert did nothing for his team? try made them above 500, and then some. How can a guy who strikes out 199 times, and bats more then 100 points lower then albert get it? albert didn't even strike out 60 times...was almost the first player to lead his league in obp and slug in the same year in something like 40 years...i don't remember who the last one was, i used to know

Okay Pujols has a better average, but his team was awful. And he doesn't scare me at all. He is getting to his washed up point of his career anyway.
How does a player who continues to improve "getting to his washed up point in his career?"

Had Pujols as #1 on my ballot & Ludwick at 10 for NL MVP. I also had Glaus as my top selection for 3b Gold Glove in the NL & Lidge as the top NL reliever.
Just remember, not everyone takes the time to post their selections in this thread man.

PP has obviously not taken a look at Pujols' stats anytime in the past year. As I've stated on this forum earlier, Pujols' greatness is simply taken for granted by most because he puts up stout numbers year in & year out. It's easy for some to say, well he always puts up those numbers, even though those numbers are perennially better than numbers posted by other players.

I may be biased towards Howard, but he delivers the hits. I watch every game. He may not have given them 10 wins, but he has given them the wins to get to the playoffs.
I think what gets me the most is Ramirez was on that list and Howard wasn't. Ramirez is a punk for quitting on his team. And those numbers he put up since he went to the Dodgers, if he continued that pace for an etnire season with one team, I would have no problem calling him the best player to ever play baseball. But he didn't, and the only reason he is doing this is because he quit on the Red Sox just to get traded.
Being clutch for one month doesn't make you an MVP. I just feel you are looking too hard in the rbi and hr category. And I don't feel that makes up the best player in the league when he plays an overall game the way Howard does.
The Phillies are a good team, and I am happy for them this year, they deserve it, but Howard isn't the MVP and probably shouldn't even be in the top 3 in voting
Re: 2008 Sports Mogul MLB Awards - Ballot Discussion
Also, after reading some posts I am a lil surprised Ibanez doesn't get more support....didn't he put up a great year for a bad team?
Re: 2008 Sports Mogul MLB Awards - Ballot Discussion
No, you are going to far in the opposite direction Jeff. He was good, but not great. And being just "good" on a bad or good team does not justify an award

It's the most valuable player in the league award. And Albert was that, doesn't matter his team, which he made as good as they ended up
Re: 2008 Sports Mogul MLB Awards - Ballot Discussion
I would like to participate in the voting. What do I need to do? I am looking through this thread but I can't seem to find what I need to submit and to who

I believe he was talking about your Ibanez for MVP non-sense
Ibanez should garner some talk for Silver Slugger, but not for MVP
