Milwaukee Brewers are NL Wild Card Champs
Good job Brewers. Not so much Mets.
Re: Milwaukee Brewers are NL Wild Card Champs
NOOO! Wow, they choked, Cubs could've played harder.
Re: Milwaukee Brewers are NL Wild Card Champs
Congrats to the Brewers. Now we'll see how this AL Central race ends up tomorrow...
Re: Milwaukee Brewers are NL Wild Card Champs
So who wants to put money on the Mets making a hard run at Teixiera and/or C.C. this offseason?
Re: Milwaukee Brewers are NL Wild Card Champs
the Brewers made it! wow, let hope that they're luck holds out. I wouldn't mind a Twins-Brewers World Series but that won't happen.
Re: Milwaukee Brewers are NL Wild Card Champs
It's creepy how similar the Mets finishes were in the past two seasons

Well they have a MVP caliber(atleast this season) first baseman in Delgado, so they probably won't go after him. And their rotation up front isn't bad(Johan, etc.), so they probably won't go after CC. If they are going to spend big money this offseason, it would probably be to solidify their bullpen

Are you kidding? They're going to re-sign Carlos Delgado to a 7-year contract! He's the MVP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :p

Delgado was not an MVP caliber hitter this season. He was an MVP caliber hitter for half of this season, and his contract is up so I think all signs point to the Mets throwing the bank at Teixeira.
That's true, the front of their rotation isn't bad. But with these embarrassing collapses at the ends of the past two seasons that they will want to add another ace caliber pitcher. Especially when you consider how well C.C. performed for the Brewers down the stretch, and his entire tenure really. Maybe it won't be C.C. they go after, but I think you'll see them at least add a guy like Burnett or Sheets.
Re: Milwaukee Brewers are NL Wild Card Champs
In other news, when was the last time a team from New York wasn't in the playoffs?
Re: Milwaukee Brewers are NL Wild Card Champs
Damn that biased Major League Baseball for not having a team from New York in the playoffs! What are people in New York going to do?!?

Well it really wasn't the offense or rotations fault for what happened. It was the bullpen that was the thorn in their side.
And first base isn't the offensive position of need. They really don't have a true second baseman, or left fielder. I think they would rather try to fill one of those offensive needs instead of first base.

All true. But I don't think the Mets management will be able to resist the urge to sign a star hitter like Tex' after the collapses they've experienced the past two seasons.
K-Rod is probably in the mix too, but I've read that they're not considering him. Which is a bad decision IMO since Wagner is out all of next season too.

Watch the Knicks suck. Watch the Giants be pretty good. Watch the Jets suck.
