Two Ex-Yankees Conspicuous by Their Absence
Re: Two Ex-Yankees Conspicuous by Their Absence
Clemens doesnt count... spent more time with the Sox and was with 3 other teams besides the Yanks... He didn't belong there. Torre was a discrace however. He should have been there or mentioned anyway since he is a little busy winnig with another club (dispite him :p)
Re: Two Ex-Yankees Conspicuous by Their Absence
Torre is understandable as they didn't have anything for managers, and plus, he's managing another team and thus has obligations elsewhere.
Roger Clemens, though, while I understand not bringing him out on to the field with the guys they brought out, absolutely should have been part of the montage footage. He spent 5 and a half seasons in pinstripes, and was integral to their last World Series win. They have Jimmy Key and Orlando Hernandez in the montage, but no Roger Clemens? Pitiful.

Actually they had Billy Martin, Jr. and Yogi Berra. Yogi was a skipper twice and Billy Jr. was representing his dad but Torre really was tied up elsewhere. They should have at least shown his face though on the big screen!

I didn't watch it. Was Strawberry, Gooden, or Steve Howe present? These were Steinbrennar faithfuls whom he gave 11, 12, and even 13 chances to after they continually turned back to drugs. True Yankees.

They were both players for the Yankees. Torre wasn't.

I don't think any of them were present at the ceremony, but Gooden was shown in the montage, and I think Strawberry may have been, although I'm not positive on him. Howe wasn't.

I only saw part of it, but I didn't see Gooden or Strawberry there.
Steve Howe died a couple of years ago.
