If he stays healthy.....which I'm not counting on
If he can stay focused.....which he may
If he regains support of his teammates....which I doubt unless he wins and shows some toughness
I just can't see it. I doubt anyone in that locker room has any belief in this guy anymore, plus, at this point I think it's fair to ask if he CAN still physically pitch like he could before all the injuries?
The guy's only had one very good season, 2004, where he was helped by a good deal of luck. In 2003, he was an average pitcher, despite peripherals nearly identical to 204. He's never reaching that level he pitched at in 2004 again. 2003 is a possibility. Stranger things have happened, but I'd strongly bet against it.
Really I am shocked his career has lasted this long!
Damn, I'm gonna be at a party on Saturday, so I can't watch this comedy show :p
Maybe the Mets will pick him up after the season and he can be your new favorite pitcher!
I could actually see the Mets as a MAJOR front runner for him. But I think the Angels will try to keep him on board. If things go well from now until November, I'd be surprised if he didn't stay with the Angels.
I think Delgado has an option for 2009, but there's a small buyout.
This makes a lot of sense for them.
