I think he'll stay in Cleveland. I think the talks about him being traded are far too premature. The Indians still easily have a shot at the playoffs, and they're ran by smart people who aren't going to give up on the season so easily.
He'll go to NYY and be a bust.
I don't think the Yankees have the players to trade for him.
NYY will push HARD for him in F/A though
Detroit
Voted 'other' because I don't know.
The local media is calling it a season based on too many injuries and too much mediocre play for too long. The old saying about knowing how a team will do overall 60 or so games in seems to apply.
Obviously I don't know what's going through Shapiro's or Wedge's mind, but there's been talk of moving C.C. I THINK Shapiro said as much in the Plain Dealer.
Unless they can get a firm commitment from Sabathia, that's a good idea. We don't want him going to FA. It would be hard to afford him if he plays hardball, and he's worth more than a compensatory draft pick.
The answer to the poll is pretty simple. Who has the deepest farm system? Talk here is of the classic rebuild strategy - get A LOT of prospects and start pushing them through.
wish i could see him go to the brew crew, but i see those d@mn dirty cubs snatching him up
I doubt he leaves Cleveland.
CC will almost definitely goto FA'cy and few teams will be willing to give up many prospects for three months of pitching.
Cleveland could accept less/lesser prospects, but i don;t think they will be to far out of it, and when fans and talking TV heads see that Cleveland dosen't get a major haul for him they will scream bloody murder.
I think he stays in Cleveland for this season, but if he does end up getting traded I think it'll be to the Dodgers.
Yankees!!!!!!!
Oh, the Yankees certainly have the prospects; the Yankees are actually one of the few teams that do have the prospects and the need.
Jose Tabata, Phil Hughes, Ian Kennedy, Austin Jackson, Andrew Brackman, Humberto Sanchez, Christian Garcia, Jesus Montero, Jeff Marquez, Dellin Betances, etc...
Now, I believe that the question is whether the Yankees would trade any combinatioin of the 3. I could see a trade of Kennedy, Tabata, and a lower level prospect, but that is about it. I've also heard rumors that Cano could be a centerpiece of a deal for Sabathia, though I would not make that trade either. I say, if you can get Sabathia for Kennedy, Tabata, and a couple of lower level prospects than do it; but if you have to give up anything more, than I wouldn't do it.
I'd say Hughes, Brackman, Sanchez and go for it!
That'd be incredibly short-sighted.
Yeah...and irrational too (hence my moniker) but Hughes just hasn't impressed me too much and I'd throw the other too in for some instant help!
