Re: Moving Out:The Pittsburgh/Portland Pirates (2004)
Leading the team with a .336 AVG. and 7 HR's and no future third baseman in the minors Rob Mackowiak has signed a 3 year extension at $900,000 a year.
Re: Moving Out:The Pittsburgh/Portland Pirates (2004)
Pittsburgh, PA-After Benoit's 6 innings of quality pitching only giving up 2 ER Jack Wilson Pinched hit for him. Jack Grounded out to third and when he strolled back into the dugout Abraham Nunez said. "Now you know why you don't start you *exploitive* *exploitive*." And what followed was the worst fight in Pirates history. With the whole dugout getting involved and manager Lloyd McClendon getting a black eye from a misguided hay maker the two fighters were brought into the clubhouse. What a way to cap off Joaquin Benoit's first start without a pitch count. In which he went 6 innings, 5 hits, 2 earned runs, 2 walks, 6 k's on 109 pitches. After the game the league suspended Wilson and Nunez for 3 games in which Nunez replied. "That shouldn't be too hard for "Jack-off" Wilson, he never plays anyway. Which caused more commotion in the clubhouse. We'll see how McClendon handles the situation.

Lol, I couldn't find a picture of Pirates fighting so I needed to improvise.
Re: Moving Out:The Pittsburgh/Portland Pirates (2004)
Abraham Nunez, Jack Wilson Sent To AAA
Jack Wilson and Abraham Nunez have been sent to AAA to play side by side in order to settle their differences. Manager Lloyd McClendon made the decision saying. "If these guys can't play on the same team, they they won't play on any at all." The 3 day suspension given by the league didn't include minor league baseball.

Re: Moving Out:The Pittsburgh/Portland Pirates (2004)
Pittsburgh, PA- After being sent down to AAA with Jack Wilson, Abraham Nunez has decided to leave the Pirate organization all by himself and move back to his home country in the Dominican Republic. Nunez was struggling a bit in AAA with his arch rival Jack Wilson out performing him. Nunez was unavailable for comment as he was in another country. Well it looks like the Pirates are now forced to trade or release him.

Re: Moving Out:The Pittsburgh/Portland Pirates (2004)
Pittsburgh, PA- After the ordeal with Nunez leaving, the Pirates were able to get a deal for him. Journeyman third baseman Russell Branyan will now come in for Nunez. This is the third time Branyan has been traded THIS year. Branyan has 10 home runs this year and will move into the cleanup spot and play third base. Rob Mackowiak will move to centerfield and Tike Redman will sit the bench. Jack Wilson also moves back into he starting lineup and will play shortstop. Jose Mesa was also traded in the deal.
