Sometimes, people get excited. There's something called adrenaline.

Because this man has spent his entire life golfing and became the best golfer to ever play the game. I don't think he'd willingly miss the rest of the season of the sport he's played his entire life.
Re: Goosen thinks Tiger was faking injury
Why not? Because winning majors is what is the most important to Tiger. This will be 2 less opportunities for him. He still figures to overtake Jack eventually, but you never know.
Re: Goosen thinks Tiger was faking injury
My comments houston were tongue in cheek. I think this whole thread is rediculous. I hate when people start talking about what is a sport and what isn't a sport and then twisting logic to suit their arguments. One person in here pretty much said nothing is a sport unless its a team event??? Really......who cares. If you don't like a sport, game, event, whatever..don't pay attention to it!! Call it what you'd like, but why start an argument to try and convince others that something isn't a sport because it doesn't fit your definitions?
As for Tiger......the greatest ever, there's no doubt he's injured. I don't think the injury was as painful as some may think it was during his round, but surely after the adreneline HGM referred to and maybe pain killer wound down it hurt like he!!. I say this, because I've played the sport (haha) of golf with a bum knee, golfers elbow, bad back, and other injuries at various times and they greatly effect your game. Just knowing the pain 'could' be there has to effect your game. I think the world of Tiger, and as much as he doesn't seem human I still believe he is. I don't see how anyone can win the US Open with a seriously painful knee injury. I think he knew it was hurt, took some pain killer and over dramatized it during his round. Added to the aura that is Tiger.
Even going out there and dramatizing effected his mental approach though, and what he did was amazing.
Of course, these are just my opinions.
Re: Goosen thinks Tiger was faking injury
it all comes down to jealousy, people usually hate someone when they totally dominate something or someone else and simply put, Tiger is worlds above anyone you can find on a golf course.

Agreed with your premise, but I think whats most amazing to me is that Tiger, as far as I see, has transcended that. What I mean is, many including I at one point hated him because he was so dang good. Hated is too strong, but definetly rooted against him. However, he has transcended beyond that to a point where most of those who rooted against him are now steadily in his corner. He doesn't have the haters.......and thats as much because of his amazing on the course feats as it is because of his off the field persona.
I've never seen any other example of this. Jordan I would say got close.....and Muhammed Ali may have but I wasn't around during his time. I know initially alot of people hated him because of him dodging the draft and outspoken comments about the war. I can't say however if he reached the level of Woods or not.
Re: Goosen thinks Tiger was faking injury
Anybody can let someone define things for them. Sometimes we need to step outside and see the world from our own eyes.
Re: Goosen thinks Tiger was faking injury
Is the difference between a sport and a game really a topic that needs to be spoken about like some sort of truth-seeking endeavor? Where thinking for yourself is crucial? O_o

Yes...practice makes perfect.
We learn small and grow big

agreed. problem is, I think games and sports can both be the same. Has anyone gone to a 'baseball game' recently? When was the last time you went to see 'the sport of baseball'??
Terminology is a b!tch isn't it?
Re: Goosen thinks Tiger was faking injury
I think what people try to say is while all sports are games, not all games are sports.
But really, who the heck cares?
Re: Goosen thinks Tiger was faking injury
Both statements are false. Not all sports are games.

Re: Goosen thinks Tiger was faking injury

Out of curiosity, what sports aren't games?
