he took Steriods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2001 http://www.baseball-almanac.com/feats/feats0.shtml everyone in D.C. hates him!! the giants realesed him because of 756!
When did Bonds ever test positive? hmmmmmmm no answer?
he lied twice to the law!!
But when did he test positive?
Giambi and those boys lied and then tested positive! They have lost like 40lbs but they still get to play! ****, Sosa broke a corked bat on National Television but he still gets to play???
uh somebody!!!!! back me up here!!
They is no backing up, its just seems that since everybody else did it, Bonds did it also? Its all BS, I have been a Bonds fan since he was in Piitsburg. It was Bonds and Bobby Bonilla aka The Killer Bs!
Bonds was a 30/30 man back then,,,,bottom line is Bonds is the greatest player ever and haters will be haters so people dislike him.
Long Live Bonds!
I'll cut you some slack since you are a Laker Fan....Lakers in 6!
more like in 5
I can go for that also!
Barry Bonds allegedly lied to federal investigators, which is why the government is going after him and not other guys like Jason Giambi.
You're also incredibly naive if you don't think Bonds took steroids.
Take a look at Bonds when he was with the Pirates.
Take another look at him from 2 or 3 years ago.
See how everything's doubled in size, except for his head which is bigger than AT&T Park?
Steroids.
I don't think the size is any real indicator, as people DO get bigger. If you look at any player 20 years ago and then look at him now, he'll very likely be bigger.
However, the evidence against Bonds is pretty much overwhelming outside of his size.
The difference, as already stated...those other guys did not lie in grand jury testimony, and it seems Bonds did. THAT is what he's charged with.
so you are saying if you rob a bank and admitt to you are better than the guy who said he wasn't there? Give me a break...........bottom line is he never tested positive! SO why should he admit to anything?
Yes he did (the Mark Sweeney incident),however he never tested POSITIVE for steroids but that was because when he used his form of steroids THERE WAS no test.*
However he himself admitted to using "Clear & Cream" which were shown by Victor Conte & the BALCO Chemist WERE both steroids,he was cited by Gary Sheffield & Ms Bell UNDER OATH that he used steroids & his personal trainer AVOIDED testimony (& sits in jail as such).
There are also elements such as BALCO's "black book",Andersons' "doping" calender (& others which were not made public) that is WHY the Feds are investigating him for perjury.
* you can only be caught if the test actually tests for discernable steroids,BALCO created "clear & cream" to be undetectable at the time.
Since a test for them exists & has lead to numerable sports athletes being caught (Marion Jones/Pettigrew etc)
so like I said, he never tested positive!
I understand all of that, all I am trying to prove is if the Gov't wants to get you , they can, and they will.
Yes, his trainer is in jail because he refuses to go against what against what Bonds says, and last but not least if the so called steroids made him hit all those homers, why was he able to hit all those homers after the investigation started?
A lot of guys never tested positive who were using it. That's what happens when you can get the best masking agent money can buy.
They brought a lot guys in to that investigationa nd several of tham admitted to using roids or other things :-) choosing to come clean can be so good for the soul
Not sure if this was a reply to me or not.
Anyway, I never said anything about testing. He isn't being charged with use of steroids. He is being charged with lying to the feds. You do not do it, period. If you do, they will come after you. The Grand Jury testimony records were sealed, but it's known several players ADMITTED to usage in that testimony because they CHOSE to admit that fact (Jason Giambi, for example).
And if you think Bonds is the only person the Feds are going after/have gone after for this, talk to Marion Jones, when she gets out of prison for lying in testimony.
They don't tend to come after you for lying to them unless they've got something on you. And then they put big time prosecutors on the case, and they nail your *** to the wall. If he was stupid enough to think he could get away with lying to them, I hope he gets nailed.
even if they do nail him, he is the best ever!~
Bonds without steroids= First ballot HOF player, first player to 500 HR and 500 SB (right?)
Bonds with Steroids= Most career homeruns, best player statwise ever, on of the worst examples to kids in baseball, complete douchebag, and may not make the HOF.
Griffey wasn't better. Neither were Aaron or Musial. For Mays, Cobb, Speaker, and Dimaggio, it depends on how much you value center field defense, and how good they were. Bonds was also better than Williams.
Speaking purely offensively, Ruth, Williams, and Bonds are the top 3.
Taking defense and all-around play into account, it gets closer, but since defense is so hard to quantify, it's really impossible to say which of these guys was better.
Bonds is not the best ever, though.
