yes... if the yanks had not tied then there would be no 163rd game. Detroit and Royals are basicly playing for their division. once that game is tied the loser has a worse record. Only time there would be more is if say the sox tied the yanks then the yanks and sox would play each other and KC would play DET. the 2 losers would then be tied for the WC and woudl play a 164th game!!!
