If you want better results from your talent, McB, I can recommend pitching in "Player" mode, and batting in "Manager" ...that's what I do when running the Canajun Ehs, a far weaker team than yours, and I seldom feel frustrated...Quote:

He failed to mention his bullpen, that can have a lot to do with the poor record. Also I noticed if you acquire a lot of big time players all at once, they typically do poor because they havent gelled together as a unit. (Or at least thats what I think). After a couple seasons of being on the same team is usually when you get the most out of them.
As far as you saying this is the worst game ever made, theres no other way to put it as youre an utter retard. Someone said something about Madden 08 and I have to agree thats far worse than this game. But you know how EA sports is, theyre not about making a quality product anymore, their just a cookie cutter company.
If your looking for a good football fix, I might recommend All Pro Football made by 2k sports. Thats a really good football game, I hope they make another this year.
To be honest, that really isn't that great of a lineup. It should certainly win more than 50 something games, but it seems far from dominant to me. I mean we would have to see all the contact, power and eye ratings from all those guys. What year did you start in? What are the defensive ratings of the players? Just simply looking at the overall and peak ratings of a player does not in any way tell you how good the team is going to play. If your lineup has no power or no speed it could spell disaster.
I have had this game for about a month.
I enjoy it greatly for many reasons.
I like manager mode where I make all the moves as a manager but I can get through a game in a free 20 minutes.
Do I care about making the league competitive, no those issues mean little to me. I just like being able to run my team as a GM and Manager. If I become dominant and win the World Series every year so be it. I know that some guys hate this but I am just playing for fun.
I like that it is stats based. I like being able to click on a player and see all of his career stats right there. I like looking at stats.
I like the realism of the historical leagues. The real player draft, the real team name changes, the expansion and DH coming into effect and all that.
I like downloading an encyclopedia stats to look at many years of stats all at once in html. I like looking at box score in html.
Would I be more frustrated if I was losing, probably I was 16-23 and 32-32 in my 2009 season. Then I learned that C fielding rating effected pitching so I went out and got a good defensive C. I am 10 games over in August now and a game out of first. Not as frustrated but having a great time.
To recap, is it the best game ever, probably not. Is it a fun time waster for 45 minutes to an hour everyday. Sure, it was well worth the money to me.
Unfortunately, for what I've read, there isn't going to be anything from 2k this year. And Madden yet again is pushing nothing but improved animation and graphics. Who cares? Madden football has become just like that really hot chick we've all walked up to talk to, only to discover she has the IQ of drywall. Sure, she's fun for a little while, but eventually you really want someone you can actually have a conversation with. The game looks great, but 2 or 3 plays in, you realize it's just absolutely garbage under the sheen. Anyway, I'm quite happy with Front Office Football, and am happy to have FINALLY found something, since I'm a pigskin nut.Quote:

What game is he playing? Even at the hardest settings, you can make Kansas City a contender within 10 years. I bet he is trying right now....:)
