mine didn't reset, but lost 700 or so
Uh oh.
I lost 30 or so.
Yeah, I'm down a couple thousand.
Heh, I say just get rid of the post count at this point, honestly. It keeps screwing up.
That would be nice...Quote:

I don't care anymore...happy now ohms.
Yes
;)
um... I didn't have anything to do with this... the whole forum (including BMO) crashed yesterday afternoon. Clay mentioned something about an errant php script.
I'll run the post count recaculator, but just so you know...
we're deleting old BMO forums from dead leagues so the counts will be constantly changing.
I'll see if I can get rid of the post count thing too. The upside of the post count is that when it breaks (like it did before the board crazyness), it's like a head's up that something's wrong. But, if its making people fight, it's not worth it...unless we can somehow turn that fighting into a popular game and sell it.
(flash forward 1 year...)
POST COUNT MOGUL 2010!
Do you have what it takes to post a single word again and again and build your post count into a dynasty?
Oh..wait. Where was I? Yes yes. Postcounts. They're broken. I'll try to make them go away... (until 2010!)

We know who the funny one in this family is
:D
Dee is back!
ah, you'll live...
;)
Be careful because this guy own the copyright to PCM10 (AS He was the 1st poster....) *joke*
dee is in the hizzy... or should i say flibbidy blobbdy floo.. (southpark refference)
A POLL? You mean, to find out what customers think before I just willy-nilly destroy the universe here? Who do I look like? Clay? BWAHAHAAH!
But, it turns out it doesn't matter anyway: They're staying.
My copious 5 minutes of research shows that pulling them would involve actually editing templates, which is more than just mashing a button, so the question is moot anyway.
I can't easily, safely make them go away, so, I won't.
BUT -- That being said: Post counts are going to be funky for a long time. We're cleaning the board up quite a bit...we may even split the board into BMO leagues on one board, and then everything else on another. We're still looking into that to prevent server freakouts like happened yesterday. So, what you have for post counts may not be accurate, and will be changing. If you go down to 0 or whatever, feel free to drop me an email to re-run the postcounter.
But, please try not to use up a lot of my time and emotional manna points with "so and so is cheating on the post counts!" kind of stuff. It makes me sad. I need all my happy power for the ultimate challenge: The Hello Kitty Online MMORPG. It's about to open, and we'll all be absorbed by the massive marshmallowy wonder that is HELLO KITTY! We can all fight over who has the highest love-points count!
Just listen to that theme! I'm going to record it and just play it in a loop over and over while chain-drinking Red Bulls.

I hope not, nobody needs to be punished like that. I'm kidding, but the image their kids are now haunting meQuote:
Who do I look like? Clay?
Maybe it's just me, but why would somebody's post count who hasn't even posted in any BMO league forums be affected by that?

Professor Dee breaks out the chalkboard:
The Internet is a series of tubes, all twisted together. Thusly, like a fractal pattern, code is like a series of noodles, all twisted together. Thus the term, "Spaghetti Code". Discount code is referred to as "Ramen Code". (There's a DaVinci Code joke in here, but it hasn't found me yet...Maybe code written by Tom Hanks?) If you pull one noodle, all the other noodles are affected...

Honestly -- I have no idea. But the data is in huge MYSQL tables, and when post counts get changed, I have a feeling that one huge table column for the Users -- all users -- gets written to. It probably has a total postcount for each user, including ones who don't need to be recalculated because they had no changes, but when the system makes alterations to the table, it can get overwritten incorrectly with zeros.
The program probably defaults to making that value zero just to be sure /something/ is in the table to fill the space. After I do any maintenance, I do re-run the post counter thing, though, so no one should have a zero who posts.

i had 405 now i have 248!!!
I got 700 of them back but am still off by 2,000. Its not like I care about them, but it just looks weird.
this is a waste of time...
I was at 17k at one time, and with all the threads deleted My guess would be 21000k now...
I have lost 1/3 of my post by these post (nazis*).
* Joke
This kind of stuff makes people inactive. Mikey has had more than 1/2 of his post deleted. He lost maybe around 15k post so far...he now sits at 11k, which he was there 2 years ago.
The worst part, is since stieny, he barely post, except for those interesting post he post once in a while. Mikey was one of the biggest influenences to BMO, he got me to join BMO...and Mikey and post counts don't matter, he gave me a reason to come to the forums...and spend $15 bucks a month on BMO.
If post counts make somebody stop posting...then ...uh...I don't know what to say to that...
SO who stole DA POSTS (btw I dont really care about WHAT my post count is....DID I LOSE some most probably BUT they werent that important)
