Naahhh!
OK, I have heard tons of people say things along the lines of "Men are naturally stronger and better at most sports then women".
Just curious, who would have a better chance at becoming a pro baseball player, Bill Gates (who is a man) or Jennie Finch (who is a woman)?
Relating to the utterly ridiculous parallel between seperate locker rooms for different genders and segregation: I don't think you guys quite get this, so I'm going to give you this quote said previously by TheNamelessPoet (I acknowledge that this quote was used for a different reason, I don't intend to be taking quotes out of context here):
"they have boobies!!! jezz I was hoping I didnt have to say it. it will become a distraction to the game... and i dont care if im called sexist, or a pig, or whatever... it will be distraction"
When kids go to gym class, there is a boys' locker room and a girls' locker room. This is not a form of segregation, this is because of the possibility for sexual harassment in a mixed locker room.
Why can't a woman who is fully qualified, trained, and talented play in a "male sport"?
Why is it that almost all men don't realize that not all women want to be homemakers? We passed the 1950s (barely) and we should be past that type of stereotyping of the genders.
Not all males are tough and strong (I for one am not,I suck at sports and I've even been told that I should be strong because I'm male) and not all women are weak and unathletic.
No said that Every man in existence is better than every woman in existence.
BUT, men are naturally bigger/stronger/more athleteic than women. The average man is over the average woman, the peak men (i.e. professional athletes) are over peak woman. It just a fact you cant really argue.
can you find a woman is better than a man in those repsects, yes you can, judt like you can find some 60 year olds that are stonger/more athletic than a 25 year old, BUT 25 years olds are just naturally stronger/more athletic than 60 year olds.
And no you would not put a male in the rink he would be dead before he got around once.
We're likely to see a female umpire before a female player. I remember reading a story about a female minor league umpire a couple years ago; I wonder how she's doing.
