Kobe
I wouldn't bother adding anyone...honestly, this was a 3 horse race this year, Kobe, Chris Paul, and Lebron.
I would have taken Paul, but honestly, I can't really fault a vote for any of the 3.
I would have to agree here, you can argue about which of the three won the award, but I don't think that anyone can say that any of the three didn't play well enough to win it. I would have taken Paul as well, just because I am a fan of the point guard position and Paul is the best in the league at what he does. Kobe, in my eyes, is just a scorer. Meh...
So.....this is about soccer, right?
Kd.
The odd thing, of course, is that Kobe's year was worse than his 05-06 year and Chris Paul's year was better than Nash's 05-06, yet Nash won in 06 and Kobe this year ...
Not saying any one of them didnt deserve it, but lets face it, the MVP is more a popularity contest/team award than anything esle.
Its hard not to like what Kobe is becoming this year. The guy actually has a personality! But I would have voted Paul due to what he's ben able to do with that team all year. Players around Kobe made him and that team better. I think Paul helped make everyone around him better like Nash when he won the MVP
As much as I dislike Kobe, I have to disagree here. The guy can score from anywhere, whether it's driving the lane, or shooting a 3, or pulling up for a jumper. He is an excellent defensive player, as well, and when he feels like sharing, he is a pretty good passer.
kobe is easily the mvp for me. KG does not deserve it because when he was out the celtics kept on winning. lebron does not deserve it because his team finished fourth in a weak conference and although he carried them much of the way, he was not as good as CP3 or kobe. cp3 was sick this year tho, absolutely killin with his assists and scoring. however, he was passing to peja and peterson, two pull up shooters. more chances for assists because they arent going anywhere with the ball. kobe got 6 assists per game passing to guys like odom and farmar, who have to make something for theirselves. finally, kobe's team finished in first, and when bynum and pau were out, he kept his team rolling. i think w/o kobe the lakers are screwed, but without cp3 the hornets would be okay (not a top 4 team but better than the lakers w/o kobe)
Chris Paul, not even close
