Switch from IE to Firefox to solve problem
For a long time I could log-in but couldn't post. I was using the Internet Explorer browser with the Vista OS.
I finally switched to using the Firefox browser and the problem went away. Board works perfectly well now. (Other websites work better too.)
I'm posting this so others who might have the same problem can see that there's a simple solution available.

Re: Switch from IE to Firefox to solve problem
Opera works far better for this as well. IE is just a bag of busted parts IMO.

Which version of IE do you have, it looks like you have a cookie problem. I currently use IE7, but for many, many years here, I used FireFox, but that dang browser doesn't work sometimes for ESPN Insider....errr, ahhh!
I had many problems using IE6, but since the upgrade to IE7, it is one of the better browsers out there... I do not like opera, and firefox I haven't used but love the bookmarks RSS reader layout...it is always open at the top...and it just dropps down...(in Fire Fox)
Re: Switch from IE to Firefox to solve problem
I like IE7 on the vista platform, it is better than IE7 on xp
Re: Switch from IE to Firefox to solve problem
this is why I don't use vista and hate it. firefox had problems but they v'e been worked out.
Re: Switch from IE to Firefox to solve problem
IE is teh suck, only use it when I have to, at work mostly. Vista is teh double suck.
Re: Switch from IE to Firefox to solve problem
yea, I think I'm sticking with XP. I'm going to be getting a new comp, and figured that would be a good reason to upgrade. Vista doesn't seem like an upgrade though... which is really a first for me.

well I have had Vista premium for a week or so and I find it easy to use so far, I haven't had much in the way of trouble, it runs fast on my machine, I got a laptop with it on it already, so far it plays all of my legacy games. The only problem I have run into Ohms_Law told me the answer to.
Re: Switch from IE to Firefox to solve problem
Well, I haven't even used Vista yet, but at least I still know enough to be able to fix it...
lol
Re: Switch from IE to Firefox to solve problem
I have read several reviews that say wait for windows 7 in 2009, it wil have all of the features of vista but run faster and have all of the features vista was supposed to have but left off in order to get it out on time.

Know what? I think it'd be easier (and a LOT cheaper) if we just went back to an abacus for our computing and paper and dice for our gaming. :(

Microsoft will not release another OS until they have sucked all the money they can out of the XP-to-Vista upgrade cycle. Bank on it.

But, Robin, that would mean that we'd all have to play and chat with each other, face to face...

yeah but kids today wouldn't know how to use an abacus and their exercise challenged arms might be too weak to roll dice:p

Based off of past versions, Vista-next upgrade will happen sooner than later.... For example, Windows ME was quickly replaced by Windows XP.
And for that matter, windows XP is a good OS. Very stable, and is a reason why the transitition to Windows Vista hasn't been as strong.
Re: Switch from IE to Firefox to solve problem
Windows ME was basically just another version of Windows 98 with a couple features added to it. It doesn't really count as a new OS. Win ME was a piece of **** too, I should know. I had a laptop that had ME and I was always fighting that thing.

I agree with your assesment of XP, people genrally if they are happy do not want to change, i do not think, from my limited experience of Vista, that it is awful, just different and not any better so why switch if one doesn't have to? I only did because it came on the laptop I purchased last week, on my own I would not have. So far I have been pleasantly surprised/pleased at how easy it has been for me to use.
Re: Switch from IE to Firefox to solve problem
I plan on sticking with XP as long as it takes for Microsoft to come out with a decent OS.
