I agree. I voted for Tom Brady because I'm being a homer. But, Bradshaw called his own plays!

Typical Yankee responce. Measuring something by the number of rings it has. I guess Mike Timlin is the greatest active reliever today then.
;)

No but Bradshaw called his own plays!

So does Peyton Manning. So did Jim Kelly. So did Kenny Stabler.

Yeah, in the 70's a QB was looked down upon if they didn't call their own plays. Course, the playbook was smaller then.
Back in that day, whenever the announcers were going on about who was better (Bradshaw, Staubach or Tarkenton) the knock against Staubach was that he didn't call his own plays. I think that was a control freak thing on Landry's part.

I wish I *could* say Kenny 'The Snake' Stabler or Jim Plunkett or Ken Anderson....but I can't, so I'll say Montana.
Re: Best QB of all-time poll!
Marino. (thought this was an easy one)
Re: Best QB of all-time poll!
I'd love to know how many who voted for Montana actually SAW most of his career. Great QB, great clutch player, but I don't see how he can be the greatest ever. He QB's one of the last true dynasty's, became legend because of some big games but substitute many QB's into that offense and they'd perform as well if not better.
I had to go with Elway, although I think Peyton could be close. I didn't see the Unitas's, Bradshaws, etc. so I can't vote for them. Elway had it all, great instincts, leadership, rocket arm, accuracy....you have to look at the skill set and not just the wins and rings. Trent Dilfer has a title for cripes sakes.
Favre is a great QB, but throws picks at bad times. He's definetly up there however. Peyton has great vision to check off and change plays at the line. A great leader who will win more WS rings before his time is up.
As for Brady, I think I do underrate him but he's up there with Favre.
Someone spoke of Marino. Sorry, but you do have to put SOME value to rings. That aside however, he had a funky delivery which honestly bothers me a bit and his stats were padded by being on a team that threw the ball 40 plus times per game. Don't get me wrong, he was great...but the man crush people still have on him needs to stop.

Montana: He retired with the highest career passing record of all time at the time. Three time Super Bowl MVP. He has the post-season record for most touchdowns and never threw an interception in four super bowls. Regardless of the offense, he has to make those passes. And in his last year in Kansas City he still passes for 3200 yards.

Sammy Baugh. Learn some history of the sport before you make polls about it.
