You know I would completely obliterate you when it comes to posting every signing/trade...if I actually posted them. :p
haha - i think HGM and ohms patrol this board with an unmatched ferocity...so I wouldn't fight that one...
Matsui signs with Astros
What about Kaz going to the Astros? Is poor old Mark Loretta hitting the FA market again??
News is that the Yankees are aiming for Loretta.
Horrible move for the Astros. It's pretty much a given that Matsui's going to hit at the top of the order, based on his "pretty" Coors-inflated stats and his sort-of reputation as a "grinder" or whatever. The Astros are setting themselves up with one of the worst top-of-the-orders at getting on base...something the top of the order really should do.
They're leaving no space for one of their best hitters (Luke Scott) and wasting money on the likes of Kaz Matsui. What the heck is Ed Wade thinking?
The Cubs should really thank the Astros though, because if not for them, they likely would have added another on-base-black-hole to their lineup.
Yankes aiming at Loretta? What, as a bench player? Don't they have Cano? Or are they dealing him?
Wait, why is the word "M-oron" edited?
Because it is an insult to the mentally handicapped & those who have mentally handicapped as family-members or friends.:(
Also there are some SM forum users who have some mental deficiencies who may also take offense.
Thank God, I heard they might be looking at him several days ago. What a relief!Quote:

Awesome!
A prize fight Kenny vs the camera guy at NewEngland .:)
15 mill for 3,not bad for a guy who was a bust* only 18 months ago.;)
* picked up for almost nothing by the Rockies from the Mets
rogers resigning with detroit is a good thing. he provides the young pitchers veteran leadership as long as hes not injured.
Yes but WHEN he was traded :Quote:
And he's still the same player he always has been. He just had Coors Field to make him look pretty.
His OPS+ in 2007 - 87. His career OPS+ - 82.
His skills haven't changed/
a) His 2006 OPS+ for the METS was 31 when dealt ;
b) he was signed by NYM in 2003 for,at the time,a large 7.5 mill per annum deal to play SS not 2B;
c) he was traded for Eli Marrero;
d) he was a FA in 2006 & signed a 1 year deal "to resurrect his career with Colorado & played early 2007 in the minors;*
All these details,subscribe that 18 months ago he was quantified a "bust".(as said in my previous post) & thus getting 15 million just 18 months later is a nice turnaround/achievement.:D
Yes, it is nice for him, but totally unwarranted.
He still provides the leadership even when injured. He still always has the ear of Justin Verlander, who looks to learn everything he can. (Indeed, while his stats were relatively similar, Justin did change his pitch style a lot this year, he is a lot more aggressive than he was his rookie year, and yet still succeeded, and he thanks Rogers for it.)
Jeremy Bonderman is a lost cause though lol.
