I knew it was coming, but I have to agree with my 3 favorite ESPN columnists that David Wright was the real MVP. Sorry, I'm not going to lower a player's value just because the rest of his team failed. If the Mets had made the playoffs, I'm sure that Wright would've won MVP, and the fact that the rest of his team sucking while he continued to hammer the ball likely cost him the MVP is a travesty. The only things that Rollins did better than Wright were steal more bases - and even there, it was only a trivial 7 more, and hit triples.
Wright wasn't even able to draw more votes than Prince Fielder.
It's just a shame that the value of players gets changed based on what the rest of their team does.
