No. They raise taxes for some special purpose, get the okey dokey whether we like it or not, collect the tax, redirect the revenue, vote themselves a pay raise, then pork barrel any remaining money.

I got to keep more money and I don't even own a row boat. Less taxation is always good for everybody. Government operates on a use it or lose it cash flow theory. If a department doesn't use it's alloted money, they don't get that same amount next year whether they need it or not. Thus they spend every possible penny and wind up overbudget, which means they "need" more every year. Even the post office, which isn't part of the rest of the regular governmental budget operates this way.

It's pretty simple, really. For some reason our politicians seem to think that their filling their own pockets by taking money from ours though.

Actually, alot of our tax dollars go over to Israel..did you know that we pay for their Universal Health Care...yet we don't have it
