At least Mr. Snappy isn't as much of a waste of good creative time as the "Fossom Flip" on a guy who almost never turns into a credible ML pitcher.

Because the ball is so hard to hit, it snaps away from left handed hitters and towards righthanded hitters. They call it that because it is/was the best slider in the MLB. They gave it Mr. Snappy because it deserved respect....I believe Rick Rizz named the pitch for the Big Unit.
