10.25G After Draft Auto-Sort AI
I know this has been brought up, but I figured i'd start a new thread for it. There's simply no way a 57/88 rated 18 year old shortstop should be playing in AAA. Last year, this was mostly mitigated by the auto-sort correcting itself following spring training, but with the draft moved to midseason, players are playing half a year at levels where they shouldn't be.
Re: 10.19 After Draft Auto-Sort AI
Aright, new thread.
*shrug*
What's happening is that, while the draft was moved, switching the players from their draft day ratings to their actual day to day ratings still doesn't occur until spring training happens at the beginning of the following season. Big, big problem...

Re: 10.19 After Draft Auto-Sort AI
This shouldn't be happening.. What's with his current overall rating? The ratings shouldn't always show as the players current overall and the players peak. WHy even bother with the change? This isn't even making sense. This is an urgent issue imo.

Re: 10.19 After Draft Auto-Sort AI
There's also this issue with a lto of the draftees getting one game played IN THE MAJORS immediately when they're drafted...
Re: 10.19 After Draft Auto-Sort AI
I really think these need to be fixed ASAP. It totally ruins the game...
Re: 10.19 After Draft Auto-Sort AI
In the meanwhile you could immediately locate the players on the day of the draft and move them to the ML level you want. I noticed this and have done this before simming on. It helps until the bug is fixed.
Re: 10.19 After Draft Auto-Sort AI
There's still no fix for the overall rating being completley wrong for all draftees...
Re: 10.19 After Draft Auto-Sort AI
Well True but it at least temporarily solves everyone going into AAA on your team....and it does nothing for the computer teams....though this is not an issue with historical rookies only......

Re: 10.19 After Draft Auto-Sort AI
I find that these ratings are all out of whack when starting a year before 2007.
Re: 10.19 After Draft Auto-Sort AI
yep, as you see from my attachment above, its not the individual ratings though. its the overall only.

That's not really true, although it's much less common with historical rookies.
Ultimately, this is just annoying for us as users since we are able to work around it. It's absolutely deadly to the AI though, which really kills the competition and therefore the game...
I wish there were 6 stars available to use.

Re: 10.19 After Draft Auto-Sort AI
Okay, found some more stuff out.
Regarding the very high overall ratings, it's only when you're not in commisioner mode. In Commsih Mode, the overall ratings shown are correct. This is not an issue of the +/- either. My scouting is +/- 3, yet overalls are off by anywhere from 1-25 points!
I also just realized that the picture i Posted with the "players getting one game in the majors" issue wasn't the correct player. Here's the correct picture. It seems very random, as some players are fine, and only some have the problem. There doesn't seem to be anything linking the players either.
Re: 10.19 After Draft Auto-Sort AI
Now that's interesting...
Draftees starting on ML roster
I've noticed minor league draftees often start at the major league roster, especially the top 10 picks or so... they never go to the minors sometimes, or other times they are put on the majors in June and get 2 at-bats and never go to the minors. Are teams really this short-sighted or is this an oversight caused by the draft now being in June and the AI reacting differently? I don't remember so many players starting on the major leagues before 2008

I'm not seeing this, at least not to the extent reported.
In previous versions (8.XX, early 9.XX), the highest-rated picks in the draft would be SP w/ 70+ overall ratings, and they would get chosen by bad, pitching-poor teams that stuck them in the ML rotation immediately. The 1994 Marlins did this w/ a 17-year-old Tim Hudson, and I have a bunch of other examples. In my current sim, however, the 1999 amateur draft was two weeks ago, and of the first-round picks, here is the breakdown:
Code:
ML: 0 players
AAA: 2
AA: 6 (including 1 who started at AAA)
A: 1
R: 21 (including 5 who have the "Imaginary Game" bug, reported below)
This is a game imported from 9.XX, so I started a new game in 10.21, game year 1921. In the 1921 amateur draft, there were some players starting in the majors, but by the 1922 draft, using historic players, the problem was gone. All first-round draftees reported to rookie ball (including two that showed the below-referenced bug), and one month after the draft, all 16 of the players drafted in the first round were still playing at rookie ball (including IRL HOF'er Chuck Klein (73/96), drafted 2nd overall). EBG and Houston, is the observed problem continuing into the second year of your sims?
While doing this research, however, I did discover another bug: 10.21 Newly Drafted Players Playing Imaginary Games.
Re: 10.19 After Draft Auto-Sort AI
Who voted this anything but a 5. :(
Re: 10.19 After Draft Auto-Sort AI
Well, me for one. It's plenty serious, but it's not a crash bug.

Yeah, I just saw your post in the rating thread discussing how you vote for things.
Re: 10.19 After Draft Auto-Sort AI
Yea, I just posted the reply there after posting this. it got me thinking about it.
Feel free to chime in.

I think it happens more consistently in modern vs historic sims.
