I'm not seeing this, at least not to the extent reported.
In previous versions (8.XX, early 9.XX), the highest-rated picks in the draft would be SP w/ 70+ overall ratings, and they would get chosen by bad, pitching-poor teams that stuck them in the ML rotation immediately. The 1994 Marlins did this w/ a 17-year-old Tim Hudson, and I have a bunch of other examples. In my current sim, however, the 1999 amateur draft was two weeks ago, and of the first-round picks, here is the breakdown:
This is a game imported from 9.XX, so I started a new game in 10.21, game year 1921. In the 1921 amateur draft, there were some players starting in the majors, but by the 1922 draft, using historic players, the problem was gone. All first-round draftees reported to rookie ball (including two that showed the below-referenced bug), and one month after the draft, all 16 of the players drafted in the first round were still playing at rookie ball (including IRL HOF'er Chuck Klein (73/96), drafted 2nd overall). EBG and Houston, is the observed problem continuing into the second year of your sims?Code:ML: 0 players
AAA: 2
AA: 6 (including 1 who started at AAA)
A: 1
R: 21 (including 5 who have the "Imaginary Game" bug, reported below)
While doing this research, however, I did discover another bug: 10.21 Newly Drafted Players Playing Imaginary Games.
Who voted this anything but a 5. :(
Well, me for one. It's plenty serious, but it's not a crash bug.
Yea, I just posted the reply there after posting this. it got me thinking about it.
Feel free to chime in.
