I like this trade for the Pirates as moving Clines allows them to finally start promising youngster Al Bumbry, and Fritz is their 1B of the future.
Injury News:
Dick Allen of the Philadelphia Phillies was lost for the season after injuring his rotator cuff. Allen had surgery this week and is expected to be out of action until mid 1973.
Up next for the Sox is 3 games at home against the Texas Rangers followed by 3 in California against the Angels.

May 30-Don Baylor went 2-4 with 2 RBI, and Toby Harrah went 4-4 with 3 runs scored as Boston took two of three from California, winning 6-2. (40-14)
W-Dock Ellis (7-3) L-Marcelino Lopez (5-3)
MLB Trade News:
Montreal sends P Lance Clemons P Terry Cox 3B Terry Hughes
Cincinnati sends 1B Lee May
Nice trade for Montreal as they trade some of their excess minor league talent for a proven starting 1B.
Around the MLB:
Ron Santo of the Kansas City Royals scored his 1000th run
Up next for the Sox, ending May and into June is 3 games in Minnesota against the Twins followed by 3 in KC against the Royals. Prior to that however will be the Amateur Draft!

Around the MLB:
Nothing really to note except Tony Conigliaro has suffered through a season of nagging injuries and this really concerns me going forward as other than Don Baylor, Tony C. is our only true power hitter, and while Art Shamsky has produced well, he's not capable of 40+ HR's. Looking ahead, youngster Dwight Evans has made real strides since picking him up from KC and could well be the starting right fielder in a year or two.
Up next for the Sox is 3 at home against the KC Royals followed by Detroit coming to the Fens for 3.

MLB Trade News:
Chicago (NL) sends LF Otto Velez, CF Glenn Burke, 1B Pat Putnam
Cincinnati sends SS Darrel Chaney
Good trade for both teams as the Cubs get their starting SS, and the Reds get 3 prospects for a player who was trapped behind Dave Concepcion.
Up next for Boston is 3 games in Milwaukee against the Brewers followed by a trip back to Boston to take on Detroit again!
