*Crash 5.150 CTD on trades during draft [Fixed 5.170]
This may be related to the CTD's on the computer generated trades. However, the scenarios are different. Plus, I have a backup that always creates the CTD on my machine that I've attached below.
Scenario: During draft, I'm informed that I don't have enough money to sign the pick, and the program prompts me to make a trade.
I make a backup, go to the trade screen, trade away the draft pick for cash. At this point the program prompts me to return to the draft. I click OK to continue, and the system CTD's to desktop.
I've already sent the abend file earlier, but thought this might be helpful. The scenario above occurs every time on my machine. If it works for you, this proves it's machine dependent.
To recreate, and load this save, go to trades, trade first draft pick away for cash, click o.k. to return to draft, and get CTD.

i had the same problem last night, the work around I found was to cut a player to get cap room to sign the draft player, but whenever I tride to trade a player to get money or draft picks it would do as you described.

Yeah it does it to me too. By the way, if you end up fixing it by going into league editor and giving yourself more money, that can cause you to start the next season with your current record, leading to all sorts of problems. So if you go into league editor, make sure to change your record back to 0-0 before he next season.

Thanks for the confirming the issue. I was in a hurry when writing up the first post.
My workaround: Save immediately after season ends. Make sure I have enough cash and remaining spending cap to sign all draft picks before starting draft. Probably wouldn't hurt to save prior to starting draft.
If I get carried away with signing bonuses during the draft, restart from the previous save. Not as elegant but it works.
PS: I've really enjoyed this game so far. There's a lot of potential here, and it's already easily the most intuitive user interface of any football simulator I've tried. The gameplay is starting to get very realistic. (last patch was great btw!)

How about getting this one fixed? I did spend my money and have had this problem for several weeks. Although its the same, trying to trade during the draft the crash number is different then the other posts. Does anyone pay attention to the football forums

I browsed the forums and have yet to find a response for either the problems reported with the game or the future of the game itself. It would be nice to see an official statement from the company. It is unthinkable not to respond to people that complain about this product. It shows lack of respect. Still, if there´s such a statement, can someone show me where it is.

Program crashing when you try to trade during draft.
Whenever I try to trade players during the draft, after the trade goes through. The whole game crashes. I'm on 5.16 anyone else having this?

Crashes when I trade draft picks - FM 2007 v5.160
Every year I try to make trades using my unwanted draft picks and always get business. However, as sonn as the draft restarts the game ALWAYS crashes - it has never not.
So basically I've never been able to make the trades as there is no point.
Anyone had this problem before?

same ting. if I don't have
1) enough cap room
2) enough cash
3) enough roster spots
the draft sends me to the trade box and whatever I do it crashes when I try to leave.
I've had to restart 3 times cuz of this (had to abandon whole games, one of them 25 'seasons').
(but each time, I do better)
