UZR or FRAR (or FRAA) in addition to EQA (or EQR) is a much better way to judge the total impact of a player. at least, in my opinion ;)

I don't know exactly how WARP is calculated, but I was under the impression that it did use FRAA.

Just for arugments sake, EQA (adjusted for this season):

Pujols: .350
Howard: .340

FRAA (adjusted for this season):
Pujols: 17
Howard: -15

FRAR (adjusted for this season):
Pujols: 25
Howard: -5

I think WPA is a useful way of measuring players for MVP (offensively, defense still has to be looked at a seperately) as is a measure of how much the players actual batting performance increased/decreased the chance of their team to win games. Hitting a grand slam when down 10-0 is worth next to nothing, while hitting a single with 2 outs, bases loaded, in the ninth, down by a run is worth a lot. Here are the 2006 WPA leaders

Top 5 WPA in MLB in WPA are Pujols 9.24, Howard 8.20, Ortiz 8.04, Jeter 5.98, Berkman 5.37

Bottom 3 in WPA in MLB (just for kicks) are Ronny Cedeno -4.65, Angel Berroa -3.35, Adam Everett -3.29
