Things i would like to see in the next baseball mogul patch

- Be able to switch people's position in play by play. Example: Say you have a speedy player pinch hit for the catcher. After the inning move the player you used to pinch run and move that player to second base then subsitutite a catcher in for the second basemen.

- The highlighted player is messed up when you switch players that are inside the same lineup, bench, minors, starting pitching, bullpen, and minors box's. For example if i want to switch the player thats in the bench one slot with the player in the bench 2 slot, and you drag the player from slot 1 to slot 2 highlighted player will be the player who is in the slot that the original player was in. (its hard to explain, so this may be to confusing to understand, but if you try and switch players that are in the same box (lineup, bench etc.) then you will know what i mean)

- Have players demand trades and refuse to play with another game with the team until they are traded.

Well, players do sometimes hold out for more money; wanting to be traded could be part of that. Players have also seriously underperformed if they're unhappy where they are (cf. Darryl Strawberry in '89).

Our first entry explains the trade-demand right guaranteed by Article XX(C) of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. This provision was recently invoked by Diamondbacks starter Javier Vazquez.

TRADE DEMAND

If a player with at least five years of major-league service is traded in the middle of a multi-year contract, he has the right to demand a trade after the season. If the player so chooses, he can also identify as many as six teams to which he will not accept a trade. Notice of the trade demand must be given within the 15-day period beginning on October 15 (or the day following the last game of the World Series, whichever is later). Like many other rights secured by the Collective Bargaining Agreement, notice is first communicated by the player to the MLB Players' Association, and then by the Association to Major League Baseball's Labor Relations Department.

The player's club has until March 15 to trade him, and if they fail to do so, the remaining years on the player's multi-year contract are voided and he becomes a free agent. Any club signing such a player does so without regard to either the compensation requirement of the CBA (which requires draft pick compensation to clubs that lose Type A, B or C free agents) or the quota provisions (which limits the number of Type A and B free-agent signings allowed to each club in years with few free agents).

There are links to more articles on transaction rules on that page for those interested. They can't refuse to play (unless they want to be put on a list that keeps them under the same contract until they will play) but they can request a trade in circumstances.

Not necessarily.. But I do remember a few years ago Roberto Alomar sitting out 4-5 games to protest the Jays trading... I want to say David Cone.. But I can't remember for sure.

Aflonso Soriano demaned a trade because he didn't want to play LF!
