Re: Surprise teams in 06?
I am feeling really good about my reds, but the sleeper team is the Brewers. NL Wildcard race is looking to be really fun this year
Re: Surprise teams in 06?
The reds have the hitting, but the question is... can their pitching step up. The brewers will defently give the NL Central a run for their money.

How about them Pirates starting 0-5 with a 25% increase in payroll???? I guess the manager wasn't the problem.
Re: Surprise teams in 06?
make that 2-7:mad: for the Pirates. As for my pick of a surprise team. Look for the Twins to make some noise in that highly competitive AL Central this year. Despite Cleveland and Chicago arguably being better teams, I think the Twins could sneak in there.

thought soo too rolls, then they lost like the last 5 games or so....they need bullpen help, they need dominance out of the pen...then they will be good :)

Their offense is too inconsistant... their were shut out for 2 straight games, and have put up 11 runs so far in today's game against the m's.

The Brewers and Tigers will probably both make playoff runs this year, but I think both teams have too much competition in their league to make it, although I'd say the Brewers have more of a chance than the Tigers.
The Tigers have to fight the defending champion White Sox and the young, talented Indians, along with possibly the Twins. The Brewers main threat is the Cardinals, and they have a shot at the Wild Card too.
I think Chris Shelton will keep up his torrent of a pace though and end up an MVP-Caliber season.
