The 1977 Steelers defense had a huge drop-off in performance vs their 1976 unit. Their points per game allowed, for example, was just below league average. I will add, the year 1977 did give us one of the greatest team defensive performances of all time. What is sad is how this team is overlooked by the so called experts when it comes to ranking the top defenses from the past. The 1977 Atlanta Falcons

I am sure this would be a lot more complicated to implement. Also, because of all the offensive stats in play, probably not necessary. I am not looking for super accurate results per a team's real life output, just being within a reasonable ballpark figure is all I was looking for.

Yes, this is a typical replay result without modifying their ratings. I am not convinced that the 'quick play' simming is as valid, per results, as the actual playing of the games. I 'coached' the Steelers vs the Patriots with my adjusted ratings &, unlike all the simmed games, the Steelers crushed them giving up 1 TD. Grant it, 1 game...but it certainly felt like the 1976 Steelers defense came to play. :)

Here are some screen shots of the 1976 Steelers season results after adjusting the, badly, needed defensive rating improvements. I challenge anyone to come close to these results with the default ratings.
